The next morning after completing the mission the player will receive a letter from the Civil Corps notifying them an update to the Relic Scanner is available and a letter from Albert inviting them to talk about one of the Museum commissions.

I know Higgins can take up to a month to finish a commission, but even then nothing has happened in another month. As my wife used to say, everyone deserves a chance. How long did you guys have to wait between finishing commissions and something happening on the bridge? Am I just being impatient? I've seen posts from people who waited years before giving up, but if I need to start over I'd rather do it sooner than investing another year. But I feel like the game thinks I should have access bc there's multiple commissions a day that require desert resources. I can't take any good commissions or update my stuff bc I can't get to the desert. I'm even getting into crops even though I have little interest in that just for some variety. If I'm lucky I can finish a relic for the museum or the market is good so I sell some knick knacks and whatnot, so that's an exciting day. I'm at the point where I just spend every day chatting up Albert (despite having clearly been friendzoned), taking some chintzy C/D commission off the board that I can immediately fulfill, then collecting wood/mining/fishing until I pass out. I went through all of winter and am now on month 5 day 12 and no bridge, just the same two workmen pounding away on nothing.

But when I went back to grab another they were gone. I successfully completed one of the Portia Bridge commissions on month 3 day 11. (I'm playing on Switch) I've looked this up but I can't seem to find a firm length of time before I know for sure I hit the glitch where the bridge never builds.
